Self assembly electronic kits

Hi,

I'm producing a range of electronic self-build kits (rather like Velleman if you are familar with those). So these will consist of components and a PCB with detailed assembly instructions. The consumer will do the soldering. Checking the manufacturers sites suggests the CE marking does not seem to be required - none of the big suppliers seem to have CE marking on their kits. A few do seem to CE marking but this is not the norm.

Will my products require CE marking? Similarly, if a lower level of self assembly is required (no soldering) then would CE be needed? An example would be the Formula Flowcode buggy by Matrix Multimedia - this does not seem to have CE marking.

Many thanks,

Andy

Who are your customers? End users, or businesses who use your components in their products?
